University of Florida DERBY DAYS
Derby Days is the University of Florida Sigma Chi chapter’s annual philanthropy benefiting the Huntsman Cancer Institute. What began as a friendly competition decades ago has grown into one of the largest and most impactful philanthropic events on campus. Each spring, the brothers of Sigma Chi unite the Greek community through a week of spirited events, fundraising challenges, and service initiatives—all aimed toward one shared goal: ending cancer through research, awareness, and hope.
The Events
Throughout the week, sororities compete in a series of exciting events ranging from athletic challenges and trivia to talent showcases and fundraising campaigns. Signature events such as the Derby Dash, Powderpuff Tournament, and Call-O-Thon bring the campus together in friendly rivalry and shared passion. The week culminates in our Derby Days Concert, where we honor the winning team, celebrate our fundraising milestones, and reflect on the lives impacted by our collective efforts.
